This is a single malt from Chichibu, released for the Takashimaya Isetan department store in Japan and matured in first-fill red wine barrels. The wine casks add depth and richness to the distillery's lively spirit, bringing Japanese whisky together with a European cask tradition. On the nose there are dark berries, red wine tannin and sweet malt. The palate offers juicy red fruit, vanilla and subtle oak spice, and the finish is silky, with berry sweetness that lingers.
