Ichiro's Malt Kiyosato Field Ballet 36th Anniversary "Giselle" is a Japanese single malt made at Chichibu Distillery in Saitama Prefecture by Venture Whisky. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, carries no age statement and was released in a run of 500 bottles.
It marks the 36th Kiyosato Field Ballet, the annual outdoor ballet festival held in Kiyosato, Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. This edition takes Giselle as its theme. The whisky vats malt matured in bourbon barrels at Chichibu with malt from Mizunara-headed casks, then reduces it to 48%.
The notes describe bright, fresh fruit, delicate floral touches and a clean, forest-like character, with the soft sweetness of white sugar and whipped cream. Oak comes forward in the finish.
