Ichiro's Malt Mizunara Wood Reserve (70cl)

Ichiro's Malt Mizunara Wood Reserve is a blended malt from Venture Whisky, made at the Chichibu Distillery in Saitama, Japan. It is part of the Leaf Series and combines malt whiskies from more than one distillery, including Scotch malt re-matured in casks at Chichibu. After vatting, the blend is matured further in Mizunara oak casks, which add a distinctive aromatic character. Lightly peated elements add depth. It is bottled in a 70cl bottle and carries no age statement. The nose offers caramel, baked apple, poached pear, vanilla, honey and a little milk chocolate, with very little smoke. The palate has a subtle smokiness from old seasoned wood, with apple, thick honey and sweet vanilla.
