Ichiro's Malt Wine Wood Reserve is a Japanese pure malt from the Chichibu distillery, made by Ichiro Akuto and bottled at 46.5% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in wine barrels, which give a deeper colour, rich sweetness and subtle fruit, and it is bottled without added colour or chill-filtration.
The nose shows red fruit, honey, light spices and subtle oak. The palate is soft and round, with grapes, berries, caramel and a hint of vanilla. The finish is medium-long, warm and slightly spicy, with a soft wine sweetness.
