This is a 16 year old Imperial single malt, distilled in 1979 and bottled in 1995 by Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin bottler founded in 1895. It is a Highland malt at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Imperial was mothballed in 1998, and the distillery was later demolished to make way for Dalmunach. The nose has an easy vegetal funk with light maltiness and leathery tar. The palate is lightly malty with a little citrus, and slightly watery. The finish is light, malty and fresh.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
