This is a 35-year-old Imperial, distilled in 1989 and matured in a single bourbon barrel. Murray McDavid bottled it for its Afficionado range at 42.7% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, as one of 179 bottles from the barrel. Imperial is a distillery that has since closed. Afficionado is Murray McDavid's collection of vintage Scotch whiskies, and the company has matured whisky in casks that previously held wines and spirits since 1994. The nose shows oily pineapple, stone fruits and salted butter. The palate brings cereal, honied peach and subtle sweet peat, and the finish is creamy with a hint of ginger and a whiff of smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
