This is a 26-year-old Inchgower, distilled in 1998 and bottled on 6 March 2025 by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice series. It matured in a refill sherry butt, cask 11274, which yielded 533 bottles at 54.8%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
Milk chocolate, stewed raisins and dried figs on the nose sit alongside toffee and dark sugar syrup, with roasted coffee beans, a touch of citrus and vanilla. On the palate, spicy oak gives way to stewed plum and chocolate, while Seville orange and black pepper add bitter and peppery edges. The medium finish is fresh, with citrus and oak followed by a hint of aniseed.
