This is a single cask Inchmurrin from the Loch Lomond distillery in the Highlands, matured for ten years in a first-fill bourbon barrel. Brave New Spirits chose cask 69 for The WhiskyHeroes, its comic-styled series, and the Germany edition filled 215 bottles.
It is bottled at cask strength, 57.1%, in 70cl bottles, with no added colour and no chill-filtering.
The nose shows ripe banana and dark fruit ahead of fresh pastry and a little liquorice, with bourbon vanilla, almond cream and desiccated coconut. The palate is full and soft, with banana cake, fruit cake on shortcrust, raisins and roasted almonds. The medium finish is rich, with banana cake and roasted almonds fading into sweet fruit.
