This is a 14 year old Highland single malt from Fettercairn, distilled on 5 September 2007 and matured until December 2021. Part of that time was a finish in an Oloroso sherry cask, which gave the whisky its dark colour and plenty of fruity flavour. The release is limited to 622 bottles.
The nose brings spiced fruit cake with melted butter, sweet liqueur-like fruit and earthy oak. The palate offers mocha, syrupy flapjack and dates, a little ginger, and toasted, biscuity malt. The finish has milk chocolate, warm spices, candied fruit and a touch of green pine.
