Invergordon – 10 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky (Early 1990s) (70cl, 40%)

This is a 10 year old single grain Scotch whisky from Invergordon, bottled in the early 1990s at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery's single grain is now discontinued, and it was the only bottled single grain whisky in the Scottish Highlands. The nose opens with a pungent whiff of spirit, followed by coconut, soft candy, gooseberries and vanilla. On the palate gooseberry is strong, alongside vanilla, white pepper and aniseed. The finish is medium long, with vanilla and gooseberry again and a slightly metallic edge.
