A single grain Scotch whisky from Invergordon, distilled in 1991 and matured for 25 years in a refill hogshead. It was bottled at 48.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle, as a release of 279 bottles.
The nose offers baked cooking apples with plenty of brown sugar, dried strawberries and blanched almonds, moving towards Rich Tea biscuits and leather. On the palate, drying oak spice sits beside soaked oats and vanilla cream pastries, with demerara sweetness, cinnamon and ginger biscuits. The finish brings warm caramel, red berries and a pinch of pepper, with soft vanilla sponge and mellow, charred old oak.
