Invergordon 34 Year Old is a single grain Scotch whisky from the Highland distillery Invergordon, distilled in February 1988 and bottled by Blackadder in February 2022 as Raw Cask Statement Edition No. 57. It was matured for 34 years in a single hogshead and is presented at natural cask strength of 52.6%, without chill filtration or added colour; it may contain natural cask sediment and wood fragments. Only 269 bottles were filled.
The nose is reserved at first, slowly opening to cereal, vanilla flowers, a hint of herbs, apricot and crème brûlée. The palate is velvety, with pineapple, honey-steeped ginger and pancakes with custard cream, alongside toffee, golden raisins and a faint touch of eucalyptus. The finish is long and slowly fading, with raisins and gentle spice, turning slightly dry.
Tasting Notes
