Islay Single Malt 27 Year Old C.Dully Map Label

This is a 27 year old Islay single malt from C.Dully's Map Label series. It is a vatting of bourbon barrels from an unnamed distillery on the south coast of the island, one known for its medicinal peat character. Only 316 bottles were filled. The nose offers campfire smoke, earthy notes and leather, with seaweed, sea spray and a fine honey sweetness that gradually opens into near-tropical fruit. On the palate, peat smoke and medicinal notes sit at the centre, with lemon, grapefruit and orange peel, juicy apricot and peach, and some mineral and herbal touches. The finish is long, with lingering smoke, medicinal hints and honeyed fruit sweetness.
