Isle of Fionia Little Isle is a Danish single malt from Nyborg Destilleri, made from local Funen malt and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is organic, unfiltered and has no added colour.
The whisky matured for three to four years in three kinds of cask: bourbon, 300-litre Ruby Port and heavily toasted STR casks, which are shaved, toasted and re-charred. The first two years were spent in the bourbon casks.
It is described as soft, sweet and fruity, without smoke, with notes of red grapes, cherry, oak spice, vanilla, pear, toasted nuts and charred cask.
