Isle of Jura – Prophecy Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl)

This is Jura Prophecy, a single malt Scotch whisky from Isle of Jura, in a 70cl bottle. The name connects the distillery with a mystic, superstitious part of the island's past, and the label carries a hieroglyph-inspired eye. It refers to an 18th century story of an old seer, evicted from her home by the Campbells who dominated Jura, who foretold that the last Campbell on the island would have one eye and carry his belongings in a cart drawn by a white horse. The story holds that this came true in 1938, with Charles Campbell, blinded in one eye in World War I.
