Isle of Jura – Red Wine Finish (70cl, 40%)

This is a single malt from Isle of Jura, taken from its Cask Edition series and bottled for travel retail at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is unpeated. The whisky first matured in bourbon barrels, then spent two years in a red wine cask to finish. The cask shows in the colour, a red-gold mahogany. The nose offers raisins, blackberry and blueberry with caramel and a soft hint of heather honey. On the palate there are fruity berries, raspberry and strawberry, a little milky coffee, and some cinnamon and vanilla. The finish is soft and gentle, with vanilla.
