This is the 2016 Tastival bottling from Isle of Jura, in a 70cl bottle at 51% ABV. Tastival is the distillery's special release, held on the island each year in the same week as the Fèis Ìle festival of music and malt on Islay.
The whisky was finished in three types of sherry cask: Palomino Fino, Amoroso Oloroso and Apostoles Oloroso.
The nose brings hot creamy caramel, roasted hazelnut, overripe pear and soft vanilla, with maple syrup, old oloroso and crushed almond. On the palate there are tropical fruits with demerara sugar and cinnamon, mulled wine and stewed apple. The finish is orange-flavoured raisin, juicy pineapple and citrus.
