Jack Daniel's (1L)

Jack Daniel's is a Tennessee whisky, here in a one litre bottle. The mash is 80% corn, 12% rye and 8% malted barley, fermented to a small beer that is distilled once. A doubler beneath the still re-distils the vapour using heat from the beer, which gives the spirit softness. The new spirit is filtered slowly through 10 feet of maple charcoal, which removes fusel oils and adds smokiness. This charcoal step is what makes it a Tennessee whisky. It then matures in American oak, which adds caramel tones. It is described as a smooth, dry style with caramel and liquorice notes.
