James E. Pepper 1776 is a rye whiskey from the Pepper family brand, established in 1780 during the American Revolution and described as the oldest whiskey brand made in Kentucky. Colonel James E. Pepper fondly called it Old '1776'. It was distilled at the Historic Pepper Distillery in Lexington, Kentucky, using limestone filtered water from the old distillery well. The mash bill is the original one, made of 100% rye.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
