A bottle of Jameson Irish whiskey from the 1980s, pale gold in colour and bottled at 40%.
The nose opens on caramel, which deepens with time alongside caramelised peanuts and very ripe oranges, before turning dustier and more tea-like.
On the palate it is sweet, nutty and cereal-led, with caramel, coffee, malt and notes of burnt cake and praline. It becomes liquoricy, then drier and more tannic, with a medium-long finish of bitter chocolate and fresh apple juice.
