Jean-Baptiste Jessiaume Clos de Bellecroix 2021 Rully Blanc

Jean-Baptiste Jessiaume Clos de Bellecroix 2021 is a white Rully made from Chardonnay grown on a 0.80 hectare parcel in the south of the commune, on the edge of Mercurey. The soil is clay and limestone. The grapes are hand-harvested and pressed whole, then fermented slowly with natural yeasts in large barrels. The wine matures for 12 months in 228-litre barrels, 10 to 15% of them new. The nose is clean and precise, with crispness, minerality and a discreet touch of wood. On the palate freshness, fruit and structure sit in harmony, with wild flowers, mild spices, almonds and freshly picked grapes. It finishes dry and velvety. Fish, shellfish, light meats and goat's cheese suit it.
