This is a 15 year old blended Irish whiskey from John Jameson, bottled in 1970 and labelled Very Special Old Whiskey. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV. The John Jameson brand was first made at the Bow Street Distillery in Dublin, which closed in 1971. Production then moved to Midleton Distillery in 1975. This 15 year old comes from one of the last batches made before Bow Street closed. Tasting notes describe an old, dusty cellar nose with petrol, leather, fresh cut grass and spearmint. The palate is dry and tannic, with burnt caramel, espresso and bitter chocolate. The finish is short and oily, with marmalade and hay.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
