Johnnie Walker Blue Label Chinese New Year - Year of the Hare (70cl, 40%)

This is a Johnnie Walker Blue Label blended Scotch made for Chinese New Year 2023, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The design is by Shanghai fashion designer Angel Chen, who drew colourful landscapes of leaping hares among mountains and clouds, the hare being a traditional symbol of longevity. Blue Label is a blend of whiskies from different distilleries and of different ages, including stocks from long-closed Scottish distilleries. Master Blender Emma Walker and her team were responsible for the blend, which has colouring added. The nose combines gentle dry smoke with raisins. The palate is velvety, with vanilla, honey and rose petals, then orange, hazelnut, sherry and dark chocolate. The finish is long, with soft fading smoke.
