Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami (70cl, 43%)

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami is a limited edition blended Scotch whisky, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Master blender Emma Walker created it with the three-Michelin-star chef Kei Kobayashi, taking umami, the fifth taste, as the starting point. Only one cask in 25,000 was chosen for the blend. The nose has caramelised miso, grilled pineapple, cocoa and a hint of blackberry. The palate is silky, with crème caramel, meringue, ginger and orange. The finish is of medium length, nutty, with hints of mushroom, black pepper and a little smoke.
