Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Port Ellen Limited Edition (70cl)

The second release in Johnnie Walker's Ghost & Rare series, a limited edition Blue Label blend built around whisky from Port Ellen, the Islay distillery that closed in 1983. Master Blender Jim Beveridge created it from eight whiskies, all at least 20 years old: three 'ghost' whiskies and five rare malts. Besides Port Ellen, they come from Carsebridge, Caledonian, Mortlach, Oban, Blair Athol, Cragganmore and Dailuaine. Each bottle is individually numbered. The nose offers salted butter, marmalade on toast, peat smoke and oat cakes. On the palate are perfumed malt, orange blossom, sea air, coal dust and a little clove, and peat smoke lingers through the finish.
