Jura – 33 Year Old 1989 Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Single Refill American Oak Hogshead (70cl)

This is a 33 year old single malt from Jura, distilled in 1989 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice series. It comes from a single refill American oak hogshead, number 1580, which gave 113 bottles. The nose combines rich tropical fruit with walnut and poached pear, then floral notes, grapefruit and mature oak. On the palate, sweet orange and lime zest give way to red apple and dark honey, with salted almonds, pineapple and soft black pepper. The finish is full and spicy, with lingering citrus peel.
