Kaiyo Five Wood is a blended malt whisky made from malt matured in five types of cask: Pedro Ximénez sherry, ex-bourbon, French oak, Mizunara oak and Oloroso sherry. The components are then blended and bottled at 44% ABV without chill filtration, in a 75cl bottle.
The nose brings lemon, candied orange peel, melon and pear alongside vanilla, barley sugar and floral notes. On the palate, lemon, orange and ripe peach lead into caramel, honey and peppery spice. The finish is long and silky, with summer fruit, honey and Mizunara oak.
