Kentucky Owl Batch No. 9 is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle. Kentucky Owl is a brand revived by John Hardin in 2015, drawing on a family distilling history that goes back to 1879.
Each batch is a blend of aged bourbons put together for that release, so proof, age mix and flavour differ from one batch to the next. Batch No. 9 was described on release as bold and robust.
The nose offers apple, white grape, cinnamon roll, maple candy, vanilla and rich oak. Honey, honeysuckle, tea and citrus lead on the palate, building to oak and pepper spice. The finish is long and spiced, with pepper, caramel and a syrupy warmth.
