Kilchoman – Loch Gorm 2024 (70cl, 46%)

Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2024 is a heavily peated Islay single malt, named after the dark, peaty loch that the distillery overlooks. This limited edition is matured entirely in 23 oloroso sherry casks, filled with spirit distilled in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The peat level is given as 50ppm. The sherry butts bring rich spice and toffee to this year's release, and 18,000 bottles were made worldwide. The distillery notes sweet barbecue smoke, cooked fruit, dark chocolate and dried figs on the nose. The palate has gentle peat smoke with honey-roasted nuts, cinnamon and malted barley, and the finish brings fresh citrus and rich toffee.
