Kilchoman – Machir Bay

Machir Bay is a Kilchoman single malt from Islay, vatted from whisky matured in both bourbon and sherry casks. Bourbon barrels make up the larger share, and that proportion shapes the balance between Islay character and fresh floral notes. The nose brings lemon zest, vanilla and coastal notes, with floral touches, peaches and pears following. On the palate, tropical fruit, dried sultanas and peat smoke come first, then honey, butterscotch and malt. The finish is long, peppery and peaty, with a soft sweetness.
