Kilchoman – Sanaig (20cl, 46%)

Kilchoman Sanaig is an Islay single malt bottled at 46% in a 20cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The name comes from a bay on Islay's Atlantic coast. Oloroso sherry casks lead the maturation, with whisky from sherry and bourbon casks married together. The sherry influence joins dried fruit and spice to the distillery's citrus sweetness and peat smoke. It belongs to the permanent core range. The nose combines heather, raisins, pear and orange peel with stone fruit and spice. The palate begins with overripe plums and red cherries, then barbecue-like peat, toffee, oak and dark chocolate. The finish is lasting, with caramel, cinnamon, clove, brown sugar and peat.
