Kilchoman – Sanaig (70cl)

Kilchoman Sanaig is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, named after a rugged inlet on the island's Atlantic coast. It is vatted from roughly 70% Oloroso sherry casks and 30% bourbon barrels. Kilchoman grows and malts its barley on site, and Sanaig is made with a longer fermentation and small-batch distillation. The nose offers heather, raisins, pear and orange peel, then stone fruit, mixed spice and peat smoke. The palate brings overripe plums, red cherries and citrus, moving to barbecue peat smoke, toffee, oak and dark chocolate, with cinnamon, clove and brown sugar.
