Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 14 is a Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle, made from heavily peated barley at around 50 ppm or more and matured in coastal dunnage warehouses. It is bottled at a cask strength of 58.3%, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
Maturation is mostly in bourbon casks, with a 10% sherry component.
The nose is pungent and farmy, with bonfire ash, creosote and engine oil alongside lemon curd, green apple skin and malted biscuits. The palate is full-bodied and oily, with soot, salted caramel and black pepper, opening to vanilla cream, grapefruit zest and charred pineapple. The finish is very long and drying, with sea spray, medicinal peat and citrus pith.
