Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 14 (70cl, 58.3%)

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 14 is the fourteenth edition of a limited single malt from Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, bottled at a cask strength of 58.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. Most of the whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks, with a smaller share from ex-sherry casks. Heavy peat smoke runs through the oily, farmyard character typical of Campbeltown malts. The nose brings lemon, key lime pie, wholemeal toast, damp straw and wood smoke. The palate is thick and viscous, with campfire embers, toasted marshmallow, vanilla custard and smoked ham, before a long, mineral, softly sweet finish.
