Batch 14 of the Heavily Peated small batch range from Kilkerran, peated to 45 ppm. The whisky was matured in a mix of 90% bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks. The nose combines honeycomb, wholemeal toast, seafood grilled over charcoal and smoky bacon. The palate is equally smoky, with lemon shortbread, ham and elegant melon. The finish is well balanced, with peat smoke, lemon zest and icing sugar, and a sweet, buttery mouthfeel.
