Kilkerran – Heavily Peated Batch 7

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 7 is a single malt from the Peat in Progress series. It was matured in a mix of 90% bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks, and bottled on 12 September 2022. The nose is fresh, with morning dew, pine forest and steaming gooseberry bushes, and a vegetal note that builds slowly. On the palate the peat moves forward with a characteristic sweetness and toasted marshmallow, alongside lemon drizzle cake and shortbread. The finish stays sweet and peaty, with a touch of salt, burnt pretzels and fresh green apples.
