KinGlassie Double Matured is an 8 year old heavily peated Lowland single malt from InchDairnie Distillery in Fife, made from locally grown barley. It is bottled at 46.3% without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent five years in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then another three years in Amontillado sherry casks. Roasted almonds, toasted nuts, tobacco and gentle caramel sit alongside oak spice and a velvety texture.
The nose is pronounced smoke and tobacco with toasted almonds and subtle oak sweetness. The palate is rich and velvety, with nutty sherry sweetness, caramel, spice and earthy peat smoke. The finish is long and warming, with tobacco, charred oak and smoky sweetness.
