KinGlassie Double Matured is an eight-year-old, heavily peated single malt from the InchDairnie Distillery in Fife, in the Scottish Lowlands. It is bottled at 46.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit is peated to around 50 ppm and matured in two stages: five years in first-fill ex-bourbon American oak, then three years in Amontillado sherry casks from Montilla, Spain.
The nose has velvet smoke, tobacco, almonds and nuts. The palate is creamy and earthy, with honey, oranges, toffee and chocolate raisins. The finish is long and spicy, with a charred chewiness and lingering raspberry and peat.
