Kings County Peated Bourbon

Kings County Peated Bourbon is a bourbon made with malted barley dried over peat smoke, a method more usual in Scotch. The malt was grown and kilned in Scotland. The whisky follows the American rules for bourbon, with a high-corn mashbill and ageing in new barrels, so it stays a bourbon while carrying smoke through to the finish. The nose has tart dark fruit and wood embers. On the palate come smoke, barbecue rub and smoked brisket, leading to a long, ashy finish with cinnamon coffee cake, chocolate fudge and cooked dark fruit.
