Kyrö – Peat Smoke Malt Rye Whisky (70cl, 47.2%)

This is a Finnish rye whisky bottled at 47.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 100% Finnish malted rye, smoked with Finnish freshwater peat in a barn, in the way it was once done in the north. The whisky is a vatting of mainly Kyrö Peat Smoke matured in new American oak and ex-Bourbon barrels, with some Kyrö Malt from ex-Bourbon barrels added. The proportions change from batch to batch. On the nose it is rich, with vanilla and waxy smoke.
