Kyrö – Malt Rye Whisky

Kyrö Malt is a Finnish rye whisky, described as the first single-batch rye whisky from Finland. It is made from 100% malted Finnish wholegrain rye, double pot-distilled and aged in new American white oak casks. The distillery was set up in an old dairy in the village of Isokyrö and began distilling in 2014. The idea for it came from a group of friends talking in a sauna. On the nose it is aromatic, with vanilla, caramel, dried fruit and earthy rye. The palate brings sweet rye bread, honey and wild berries, followed by a smooth, peppery finish with caramel and mocha.
