Kyrö Peat Smoke Whisky (70cl, 47.2%)

Kyrö Peat Smoke is a Finnish rye whisky made from 100 percent Finnish malted rye, smoked with Finnish freshwater peat. The smoking lasts 24 hours in the same smoking barn, called a Riihi, that is used for Kyrö Wood Smoke, with peat taking the place of alder wood. The whisky is vatted mainly from new American oak and ex-bourbon barrels that held Peat Smoke spirit, with some ex-bourbon barrels of Kyrö Malt added. The proportions change from batch to batch. All the grain goes through to the first distillation, which carries the smoke into the low wines and gives a mossy, peaty flavour. It is bottled at 47.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
