Kyrö Malt Rye Whisky (70cl)

Kyrö Malt Rye Whisky is a Finnish rye whisky made from malted rye that has been lightly smoked with alder. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The smoking follows an old northern custom and takes place in a 100-year-old barn known as a riihi. The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon barrels, French oak and new American white oak. It is a pre-release ahead of a wider smoked rye range from the distillery. Alder smoke tends to recall campfire, smoked ham and the forest. Here the smokiness is delicate, supporting the rye flavours in a balanced, complex whisky.
