Kyrö Rye Malt Whisky Born in a Sauna (70cl, 47.2%)

Kyrö Rye Malt is a Finnish single batch whisky made from 100% malted Finnish wholegrain rye. It is distilled twice in pot stills at the Kyrö Distillery Company in Isokyrö and matured for at least three years in new American white oak casks. Bottled at 47.2% in a 70cl bottle, it is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The name Born in a Sauna refers to the distillery's beginnings: the idea of a distillery devoted to rye came when five friends drank rye whisky together in a sauna. Kyrö launched its malt whisky in 2019. The nose has pepper, vanilla, caramel and dried fruit. On the palate come sweet rye bread, honey and forest berries, and the finish is soft, ending in caramel and mocha.
