A 16 year old Islay single malt from Lagavulin, a distillery founded in 1816 on the south coast of the island. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle and was matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
The flavour is rich, oily and smoky, with iodine-like peat smoke, medicinal bandages and sea brine. Underneath sit sweeter notes of honey, vanilla, dried fruit and a little citrus zest.
