This is a Lagavulin 16 Year Old single malt from Islay, bottled by White Horse Distillers in the 1990s at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose has dried figs, citrus peel and berries, with hints of clove and heather and some smokiness from the oak. Caramelised sugar leads the palate, with smoked barley, dark chocolate and black olives in an oily, rich texture. The finish is long, with sea salt, walnuts and a warm, peaty note.
