This is an Islay single malt Scotch from Lagavulin, aged for sixteen years in oak casks and sold in a 70cl bottle. It represents Islay in the Classic Malts selection and is known for a peaty, smoky character with a maritime edge.
The nose is peat smoke, iodine and seaweed over a dark sweetness. On the palate, dry peat smoke leads, with rich sweetness, sea salt and aged oak, and a slightly medicinal, coastal edge. The finish is long and warming, with peat, brine and marine herbs.
