This is an 8 year old Islay single malt from Lagavulin. It was first released in 2016 for the distillery's 200th anniversary and was originally meant as a temporary special, but it proved so well received that it joined the permanent range.
The nose is sharp, fresh smoke with lemon, green apple, seaweed and iodine, plus white pepper and a little clove. The palate is powerful, with immediate smoke, citrus and peppery spice, and a touch of vanilla and malt. The texture is slim and lively. The finish is long, smoky and dry, with citrus, black pepper and ash.
