Lagg – Corriecravie Edition Island Single Malt (70cl, 55%)

Corriecravie Edition is the second core expression from Lagg Distillery, which stands near the village of Kilmory at the south end of the Isle of Arran. It is bottled once a year at 55%, without chill filtration and with no added colour, in a 70cl bottle. The spirit matured first in bourbon barrels, then spent about six months finishing in oloroso sherry hogsheads sourced from Miguel Martin in Jerez. The distillery used Concerto malted barley and water from its own borehole. The nose is dark chocolate and spiced red berries. The palate is rich and mouth-watering, with charred embers and hazelnut, and the finish carries charred oak, smoke, hazelnut, dark chocolate and sweet spice.
