Lagg Kilmory is a peated single malt from Lagg Distillery on the Isle of Arran, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It carries no age statement.
It is made from Concerto malted barley peated to 50 ppm and matured entirely in first-fill bourbon barrels. The stills run at nearly twice the speed of those at sister distillery Lochranza, which gives a cloudy wort and an oilier new-make spirit. The whisky is non-chill filtered and has no added colour.
Heather smoke, charred lemon peel and banana peel mark the nose. The palate brings fruit, porridge-like malt and peat-smoked oats, and the finish is long and warming, with ashes, vanilla and citrus smoke.
